Head chef & owner Maurizio Rossini has lived in Glasgow for 12 years, the first five were spent working in various Italian restaurants. Maurizio and Ester Rossini met in 2010, both originally from Italy, Ester from the north and Maurizio from the south.
Less than a year later they were running a west end cafe with the name of ‘North Star’.
For 7 years their award winning cafe wowed local coffee lovers with a unique style of service and winning personalities, not to mention the incredible dishes produced by Chef Maurizio. In August 2016 they were married in Maurizio’s home town of Bari and in February 2018 said ‘ciao’ to their first child, Gaia.
Now, 2 years later, the team are starting a new venture, a venture, that is the culmination of the couple’s dream to bring the traditional dishes of Maurizio’s home region, Apulia, to the streets of Glasgow.
Welcome to ‘Rossini’, an authentic, family owned, ristorante, offering Italian cuisine in a style never before seen in Glasgow.
With a varied, but select menu and an Italian wine list chosen by the couple themselves, ‘Rossini’ offers a dining experience that caters for family’s, groups and couples.
From Bari to the west end, If you can’t go to Italy, come to Rossini, where every dish is a memory.
ZUPPA DI PECHE
Seafood is a huge part of Puligian food and it couldn’t be framed any better than in our delicious seafood soup. A rich shellfish bisque based dish with fresh clams, calamari, king prawns, mussels, langoustines and a rotating fish of the day. Prepared in traditional Apulian style and served with crusty Altamura bread.
PACCHERI PESTO DI PISTACCHI E SALSICCIA
Southern Italy is all about pistachios, the little green guys are everywhere and incorporated into food from pastas to desserts. This insipried us to create our own pasta dish that elegantly framed the quality of pistachios from the region.
Using Paccheri pasta, our own home-made pistachio pesto and crumbled Italian sausage we have created a rich and honest dish for the much loved food.
Many images come to mind when we picture a table full of italian produce but none more picturesque than a spread of fine meats, chesses, olives, foccacia, bruschetta, pickeled vegetables and fine oils. We have Antipasti to suit all tastes and moods.
